The Leitz M Classics bag is part of an expanding line of products for users of classic cameras. Designed to fit Leica and other rangefinder gear with an eye to fast access, comfort, and the durability you’d expect from a name like Leitz.

Construction:
The material we used in the bag is a Geman made fabric designed for the world's most exclusive automobiles. It is a wonderful laminated material. Rich in color, waterproof and durable.
It is a finely woven acrylic canvas that has an embossed cotton/poly backing. Between these two layers, there is a membrane of butyl rubber. It is waterproof and highly UV resistant. We use strong 70 lb nylon stitching that won't rot if exposed to water.
The bag is trimmed in high quality vegetable tanned harness and bridle leathers and all the hardware is brass for corrosion resistance. Our leathers are hand picked from some of the best US and European tanneries. The bags are all hand crafted in our small New England shop.

Functionality:
At the rear of the bag is a map and document pocket (approximately 8 x 13 inches).
We have also added a small grab handle made of rolled webbing; light and discrete. This will make it easier to grab the bag off the floor or back seat of the car.
The shoulder strap attaches at the rear of the bag. This feature allows the interior of the bag to be more easily accessed and creates a very comfortable angle of carry of the shoulder or across the chest.
The brass slide adjusters are at both ends of the shoulder strap so it can be shortened for a high carry under the arm. This position is very secure when walking or running and is favored by many photojournalists.

Features:
Inside the main compartment is a horizontally attached flap of material that flexibly divides the rest of the main compartment to protect other bodies and lenses without the need for slow, bulky padded dividers.
This divider can be Velcro’d into different positions, depending on the gear you are carrying, essentially making a custom interior compartment that offers protection for your gear without slow, cumbersome padding.
In this new version, we have added two foam-backed leather panels, to the bottom, on the outside of the bag. These panels will add a measure of bump protection, but without added weight or bulk.
The M bag will accept some Domke type inserts for those times when more padding is desired... like travelling in a car or plane. But it is an, otherwise, unpadded bag designed for speed and access, protection, and all-day comfort .
